Family Day @ Jurong Bird Park

My company held our Family Day 2007 at Jurong Bird Park on Sunday. But it has been raining since Saturday. Despite the rain, we decided to go coz it is a company event and we sign up for a few event..

We woke up earlier than a regular Sunday and went to pick up Hannah and her mummy. Hannah has been so anxious to go the bird park as I inform her that there is egg painting competition. Then we went to pick my mummy up and off we go to the bird park!

When we reach the bird park, we realize that they have shifted to from the outdoor park to indoor vicinity becoz of the rain... Everything has to be rearrange during the last min and the place seems to be in a mess… there are lots of people queuing for the egg painting competition and also collecting their goodie bag.. After queuing for about 5 mins, we finally sign up for the egg painting and also collected the goodie bag.

I got my mum and aunty to find a seat and I went to queue for the cake decorating competition. This is the main reason I go to the event as I have promise Priscilla to take part in the competition we even came out with the design of the cake. And on Saturday she has gotten some ingredient ready.. I cant disappoint her!!

Most of the program turn out really boring.. And finally about 10.30 the emcee announce that we are suppose to go up to the stage for the cake decorating competition and we only hv 15 mins. Wat! We were told that we are suppose to hv an hr to do the cake decoration! No matter wat, we can’t give up half way.. We still hv to do up the cake. After a chaotic 15 mins, me, Pris and Elsie got the cake done… well it didn’t really turn out to be what we have plan but it is still not bad.. hee.. here is a pics of the cake…

After that we had lunch and following that, we went back to the event hall.. We continue watching the program and at about 1 pm, the emcee announce the cake decorating competition results and our team got 1st!! haha.. we won $80 centerpoint vouchers, YIPEE!!! At least our efforts are paid off!!

Then they announce the egg painting competition results.. of coz Hannah didn’t win as she didn’t really submit her eggs for the competition… then we waited for the Top 3 lucky draw prizes… I normally have no luck with such draw so I didn’t pin too much of hope… When they announce the 1st prize (a 20” LCD TV-no brand de lah), the emcee started with the 1st number “0” then the last number is “7”.. Woah.. my number is “017” so I started to get real excited.. When the emcee announce “the winning number is 017!” I couldn’t believe my ears!! I look at my colleague and she nodded to me that it is my number! So I happily went up to stage and collected my prize!!

Although the event wasn’t really exciting, I had double happiness coz of the winning from the cake decorating and the lucky draw.. hee..
