I remembered the speech by prime minister during his national day rally.. not on maternity leave issue.. but on being a more gracious society... recently, i realise how this is true..
When i stand on the bus or MRT with my little tummy, even though most other people can see me pregnant, no one bother to stand up and give up the seat for me.. some who does not have a seat like me will also snatch for seat from me... not that i really want the seat.... but i really dun understand how come all these people can really ignore a pregnant lady standing in front of them... Dun they have a conscious and graciously give up the seat for me or any other pregnant lady... there are of coz some time when there are really nice people who give up the seat to me.. but these occasions are not that common.. most of the time i dun get a seat...
Maybe I shld be learn from my ex-colleauge or an Ang mo that i have seen before.. They will walk to someone sitting down and point to their tummy and request them to give up the seat... haha.. but i consider myself someone who does not have such a thick skin.. hee.. so i guess i can only wait for Singaporean to learn to be more gracious..
